What products are suitable for 3C type hair?

3.0 rating

When it comes to hair products, many of us are just not sure which ones are the best for our hair.

We like to go for trending or the most affordable. However, before you buy any hair product, you have to make sure that it is suitable for your hair type.

There are many different types of hair types that women fall into. Having said that, you always need to know which hair type you have.

So which hair type is yours?

Generally, hair is classified into 4 types. Their classification is based on the texture and level of curliness. The types are

  1. Straight  Hair

Above all hair types, this is probably the most common type. Straight hair is further divided into 1A, 1B and 1C.

The 1A is the straightest hair you can find while the 1C type has a wavy look and a thicker texture.

The straight type of hair generally makes you look classic as well as professional. The best part of this hairstyle is that it goes with almost any type of outfit.

  1. Wavy

In our second place, the wavy hair type is looks just as good as it sounds. It has a wave-like look and has a thicker texture than the straight.

Just like the straight hair, the wavy type is also divided into 2A, 2B and 2C

  1. Curly

The curly type of hair may be the most popular. Many women love it because besides making you look stylish, it will also make you stand apart from the crowd, so you will definitely be noticed when you walk into the room.

The first and the second type of hair categories have three sub categories while this curly type of hair only has two subcategories, the 3A and the 3B.

What about the 3C type hair? We will soon answer this question below, so read on.

  1. Kinky

The kinky hair is unique and can be styled in a lot of ways. It is where the expression “feeling kinky” came from.

Just like the Curly type hair, the kinky type is divided into 4A and 4B.

What is a 3C hair type?

We have covered all the four types of hair and we haven’t seen the 3C type hair. So, why is that?

Actually, the 3C type hair was never recognized when the types of hair were being categorized in the hair charting system.

The need to name the 3C type of hair came later on. There were a significant amount of women who fell between the super curly (which would be 3B) but not exactly kinky as the 4th category. As such, the 3C hair type was recognized and it standard characteristics were set.

The 3C type hair was identified as being too curly to the point that it took an s or a z curve (or coil), even despite being stretched out.

How do you care for 3C hair?

Figuring how to take care of this hidden category can be a mammoth challenge, especially if you have this type of hair.

Curly hair is said to be drier than straight hair than straight hair because it is a lot harder for the natural fats to travel down the hair channels. As a result, the curly hair is prone to more damage than the straight hair.

Moisturizing Products

Because this hair is different from all the other types of hair, it deserves a different treatment as well as different products from all the other types of hair.

There are so many different products that you can use to moisturize your 3C hair type. Below, we have put together the top 10 best hair moisturizing products just for you.

  1. Briogeo Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Avocado Hydrating Shampoo

This is another sulfate-free shampoo that contains some tomato as well as avocado (as ingredients) which help to ferment the seals to ensure consistent drying of the curls and increase volume as well as weight of the body, respectively.

The best part of this shampoo is that you can use it on wavy and kinky hair as well- consider it as a versatile shampoo.

However, it is not good on chemically-treated hair and colored hair, so if you dyed your hair, go for a product that is color-friendly, like the L’Oreal Paris EverCurl HydraCharge Shampoo (on point 2)
